Secondary Course (Course outline)
This 12-week course focuses solely on the movement of the lower body and its effectiveness in power, strength, and potency, as well as its partnership to the upper body. This course deals with the masculine aspect of the dance, maintaining the “pain, passion, and joy” of the dance while introducing the “nephis” affect – the signature to the Sausan Method of Egyptian Dance. Students attending this course must have completed the Primary Course.

Tertiary Course (Course outline)
This 12-week course focuses solely on learning how to hear and interpret the music and applying specific upper and lower body technique to specific entities of the music. Additionally, it embraces the full use of “pain, passion, and joy” and applies the complete “nephis” affect, which is so crucially an important aspect of the Egyptian personality of the dance. Students attending this course must have completed the Primary and Secondary Courses.

Basic Principal Course: This 12-week course focuses solely on a single popular piece of classical Egyptian music where all learned technique and expression is applied resulting in a finished product, that being an entire dance performance including facial as well as bodily expression and attitude. Students will have applied the “pain, passion and joy” concept, as well as the “nephis” affect to their music and dance. Students attending this course must have completed the Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary Courses.

Continuing Education Principal Course: Continuing Education courses are a continuation of additional 12-week Principal Courses where students may add to their repertoire of Classical Egyptian music in their dance study. Students attending any of these subsequent Continuing Education Courses must have completed all four initial courses.

Students are encouraged to attend additional Sausan Academy™ of Egyptian Dance Continuing Education Principal Courses to attain and maintain a fuller and more grounded knowledge of music interpretation and dance movement and execution as well as its culture, cuisine, and history. This will ensure the student a future of meaningful and superior individual dance performance as well as the ultimate teaching ability utilizing the Sausan Method in the arena of Egyptian style of belly dance. As such, Sausan Academy™ of Egyptian Dance produces only the finest of individual performers equal to that appearing on the stages of 5-star hotels in Egypt.
