Curriculum Courses

Course Information and Tuition

 

  • Offered to the EVERYONE.

  • Each lesson is 90 minutes including 60 minutes or more of actual instruction and the remaining minutes of video study.

  • Classes begin promptly and on time with a warm-up of actual Egyptian Dance Code® dance technique.  

  • All courses are 12 weeks.  No drop-ins permitted without prior approval.  Open to adult women only.

  • Each Quarter is $199 plus cost of materials; $195 if purchased prior to or on Orientation day.  Save $15 by downloading this SAED coupon

Courses and Description


Primary Course -

Initial Orientation recommended
Focuses on movement of the upper body and its importance to personality, aliveness, and femininity, a well as its significance to the lower body.  This course deals with the feminine aspect of the dance, and introduces the "pain, passion, and joy" of movement.  Although not required, students attending this course should have attended the initial Orientation.

Secondary Course -

Must have completed the Primary Course
Focuses on movement of the lower body and its effectiveness in power, strength, and potency, as well as its partnership to the upper body.  This course deals with the masculine aspect of the dance, maintaining the "pain passion, and joy" of the dance while introducing the "nephis affect" - the signature expression to the Sausan Method of Egyptian Dance.  Students attending this course must have completed the Primary Course.

Tertiary Course -

Must have completed the Secondary Course

Focuses on learning how to hear and interpret music and applying appropriate upper and lower body movement to specific entities of the music.  Additionally, the course embraces the full use of "pain, passion, and joy" and applies the complete "nephis affect", which is so crucially an important aspect of the Egyptian personality of the dance.  Students attending this course must have completed the Primary and Secondary Course.

Applied Basic Principal Course -

Must have completed the Tertiary Course
Focuses on a single piece of popular piece of classic Egyptian music where all learned technique and expression is applied resulting in a finished product; that being, an entire dance performance including facial as well as bodily expression and attitude.  Students will have applied the "pain, passion, and joy" concept, as well as the "nephis affect" to their music and dance.  Graduate Performance Debut Recitals are scheduled quarterly for debuting graduates.  Students attending this course must have completed the Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary Courses.
Curriculum material is handed out in each separate class.

Continuing Education Course -

Must have completed the One-Year EDC® Curriculum
A continuation of additional Applied Basic Principle Courses where student may add to their repertoire of Classic Egyptian music in their dance performance.  Students attending any of these subsequent Continuing Education Courses must have completed all four initial courses. 


Curriculum material is handed out in each separate class.
